What To Wipe

You can select from four areas to wipe :-

  1. Clear Explorer Cache. As you browse the web, a copy of each file / image you see is kept in a cache directory. Checking this option will clear out those files.
  2. Clear Explorer History. A list of sites you visit is kept by explorer. Checking this option will empty this list.
  3. Clear Typed History. Everytime you enter an address into the explorer address bar, a copy of that address is kept. By selection the 'Pulldown' button on the address bar, you can see all previously entered adresses. Checking this option will clear out that list.
  4. Clear Document History. Each time you save an image to disk, explorer adds the name of the image to the document history list. This is easilly viewed from the Start/Documents menu. Checking this option will clear that list for you.

To actually perform the wipe, just press the Wipe button. Alternativly, The Big Red Button can be set to automatically do the wipe for you by selection the Clear Automatically option in the next section.

Options

By selection the Options menu, you bring up the options dialog :-

This has two options :-

  1. Run At Login. If this option is checked, the Big Red Button will be started each time you log in to the computer.
  2. Clear Automatically. This option causes the selected wipe options to be done every 30 seconds. This way The Big Red Button will automatically clean up after you with no action on your part.

If you combine the two options, you will get a totally automated operation.
